Youth 5.0: Water Form Workshop
This workshop will take place around the Gediz River and aims to provide young people with in-depth knowledge on efficient use of water resources, sustainable irrigation methods and smart farming technologies. The event is a continuation of the activity "From River to Field: Efficient Use of Water in Agricultural Lands" and will enable participants to develop concrete solutions through dialogue with local authorities.
Activity Content:
Participants will be informed about water management and the regional ecosystem, and current practices will be examined through field studies.
Effective use of smart irrigation systems in agricultural lands will be demonstrated with examples and environmental impacts will be analyzed.
New technologies and digital solutions will be shared in presentation and discussion sessions.
At the end of the program participants will create an action plan which will present concrete recommendations to local authorities and strengthen international cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Target Audience:
Young people aged 16-30 concerned about the environment; teams of 5 young participants, 1 group leader, 1 facilitator and 1 field expert.
Participants will apply what they learn in their own towns and villages to help local people adopt water-saving and sustainable farming practices.
Local authorities will implement projects to increase water efficiency based on acquired knowledge.
Contributions of the Activity:
Digital Youth Work: Applications of smart irrigation systems and digital tools for water efficiency will improve participants' digital skills.
Environment and Climate: Efficient use of water resources will increase resilience to climate change and strengthen ecosystem protection awareness.
Inclusion and Equality: Young people from different countries and local communities will participate with equal opportunities, raising awareness on gender equality and anti-discrimination.
Expected Results:
80% of participants will increase awareness of water saving and resource protection.
Knowledge of digital farming practices and smart irrigation systems will increase by 60-75%.
70% of participants will apply at least one learned method in their regions.
Prepared field reports, guides and environmental impact reports will be shared digitally and reach over 5,000 users.
This workshop will contribute to increasing young people's digital and environmental awareness and help produce concrete solutions for sustainable water management and smart farming applications.
